Pollyanna

Pollyanna

The novel “Pollyanna” by cult American writer Eleanor H. Porter (1868—1920) has long ago won the worldwide fame and gained the readers’ love. The book was filmed more than once, and after it had been published, in psychology there even appeared the terms “Pollyanna principle” and “Pollyannaism”. The reasons of such tremendous success were love of life and optimism irradiated by the main heroine of the novel. Little Pollyanna taught the whole township to look for positive where it would seem impossible to find it. She calls it the “glad game”, and each reader, having opened the book, becomes a participant in this marvelous game.UDC 821.111(73)
